What’s better than free money? I don’t know, but if I find out, I’ll probably blog about that too. In the meantime here are my suggested products and services to earn you a little extra. I’ll aim to keep this updated over time. All the information is correct as of posting, but please politely poke me if you notice anything out of date before me so I can keep this post fresh as daisies.
Some of the links below are affiliate links, and I’m clear in advance what I’ll earn for referring you then I’ve included that (and what you earn too). I am also an Amazon associate, so I may earn a commission if you decide to pursue a free trial through my links.
Assume with any of these offers that once signed up you too will be able to refer your friends for added perks. Pay it forward and all that…
Costa Coffee
Use my code VAWIY to get the Costa Coffee app and we both receive 200 points after your next purchase… But first you get 100 points worth of free money just for registering on the app. Nom.
Freetrade
Email subscribers will have to specifically request a referral link for this one and then we both get free money in the form of a free share. I’m not a financial advisor, and can’t tell you how to invest your free share. Freetrade also don’t specify in advance the value of the free share.
Shopmium
Check Shopmium before you head to the shops to see what new branded products are available at Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys’, or Morrisons. If you buy one of the products listed then upload your receipt, you get a rebate. Sometimes this makes the item completely free, so it’s great for things you’d likely buy usually anyway.
Use my code z36m5q to get a free can of Pringles when you join (and full disclosure, I get £3 credit towards future offers… You should then be able to repeat this with your own friends).
Sweatcoin
Sweatcoin pays you in virtual coins for any steps you take during an average day which you can then redeem for various changing offers. You can also earn daily bonuses for watching three ads on the homescreen (no obligation to join or buy anything from the ads). My daily total has soared since they introduced 2x Boost: you pick 20 minutes during a 24 hour period when you are most active, and any points you earn within those 20 minutes are doubled. Join the app using this code and I receive 5 Sweatcoins, then you can refer your friends with your own code and earn bonus Sweatcoins too.
TopCashback
This website pays you cashback on things you planned to pay for anyway from insurance to shopping to flights to subscriptions. When you join TopCashback via my link and accumulate £10 in cashback on your ordinary purchases, you get £5 of free money added to your account. The amount I get for referring you seems to change frequently, so see what you can earn for referring your own friends and family (at least another £5 I expect).
Free trials
What if you just want to try before you buy? Here’s all the free trials Amazon offers.
A great way to try out audiobooks is with a free trial of Audible.
If you can’t find your favourite book in a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, there are 1million+ books included, so see what else you find!
Prime members also have access to the Kindle Owners Lending Library.
Try Prime for free for 30 days first if needed.
Students can get a six month free trial of Prime.
If you usually pay for supermarket delivery and Amazon Prime anyway, AmazonFresh deliveries are free now in selected postcodes. You can try AmazonFresh free for 30 days first.
Side hustlers and full-time entrepreneurs can get a free Amazon Business Account, so that you can order all your best value supplies in one place.
What I didn’t include in this post
Amex points. Friends and family can get bonus points if they haven’t had a card within the last two years and spend £1000 in the first six months. I can’t include the link here for just anyone to use. Shame you’re not one of my close friends from the mailing list, eh? Old buddy, old pal?
If you’re interested in making more money, you should definitely check out the bonus ebook available to subscribers in the form below.
The other option is to sign up to American Express through TopCashback.
Thanks to fellow money blogger and podcaster The Reverend for pointing me in the direction of the Costa Coffee free points. He has a money podcast on the way too, but in the meantime check out his gaming podcast Consoling Myself on Apple Podcasts.
